Key Features A quality of image previously unimaginable! The PhotoMug is now available in four styles. The original Durham and the new Avon ceramic mugs along with the bone china Balmoral and Windsor mugs. All have the same stunning quality of image. The ‘dye- sublimation’ process used to print the mugs is also quite special. The colours are bright and strong, the quality of image is photographic. No other process produces such high quality images. Print The mugs are printed by dye-sublimation: the image is first printed using special inks onto a carrier paper and then transferred by a heat process to the ceramic surface. Under heat and pressure, the inks vaporise nd permanently dye the mug with your design. The process is quite different from conventional printing and there are limitations. On the other hand, the sublimation process gives an exceptionally bright and attractive finish unobtainable by any other means. Please ensure that you have our artwork guidelines and that these are made available to and followed by your designer. Unique 360 degree print Your designs can be printed all the way round the outside, including under the handle on the Durham and Avon mugs. We call this ‘full-wrap’. Alternatively, a 10mm gap can be left either side of the handle (‘partial wrap’). Unfortunately the ‘full-wrap’ is unavailable on the Balmoral and Windsor mugs due to the shape of the handles. Please contact us for design templates or download from www.artworkguidelines.com Proofs Mock-ups can be produced using a low-cost Epson ink- jet printer fitted with sublimation inks. Although this is a very useful and inexpensive sales tool, it is no substitute for a proof printed on the press used in production. When we receive your artwork, we will produce a proof for your approval, not on an Epson, but on the press used in production. This is the only way to ensure your order matches the approved proof. Dishwasher proof and mircowave safe the sublimation process only works on ceramic products which have been pre-coated. Each PhotoMug is coated with the best sublimation coating in the world, Thermoglaze2000. It is this unique coating, applied under licence, which ensures the PhotoMugs are dishwasher proof and microwave safe.
